Welcome to the Belvedere Lagoon Property Owners Association page!
The Belvedere Lagoon Property Owners Association (BLPOA) is a private non-profit corporation whose sole function is to maintain and operate the lagoon for the benefit and recreation of its members.
The BLPOA is governed by a board of nine members elected by the entire membership. They serve for a period of three years.
The water level is regulated and water quality is monitored relative to standards established for water contact sports.
The Belvedere Lagoon is private property and membership in the BLPOA is open to all homeowners with property fronting on the lagoon.
Use of the lagoon is restricted to members of the BLPOA, their tenants and guests, and to members of the Belvedere Sailing Society during its functions.
The lagoon covers approximately 66 acres, at an average depth of 4-6 feet, and is surrounded by 261 lots comprised or 232 private residences, 28 duplexes and the BLPOA boatyard.
There is no public access to the lagoon and there is no boat access between the lagoon and the bay. And, best of all, there are no motorized watercraft allowed on the lagoon with the exception of the maintenance boats.
Since the water level is monitored, there is no tidal action in the lagoon. The lagoon temperature is considerably warmer that that in the Bay, and many residents swim in the lagoon on a regular basis.
Members are assessed dues, payable quarterly in advance. Dues are currently $280 per quarter.
If you have any questions regarding membership, contact Jean Cromwell at 435-2069. |
